EDI is a new desalination process that combines electrodialysis and ion exchange. This process takes the advantages of electrodialysis and ion exchange to make up for the shortcomings of the other, that is, the use of ion exchange energy to deep desalination to overcome electrodialysis Polarization and incomplete desalination, and the use of electrodialysis polarization to produce H+ and OH- ions to generate H+ and OH- ions to achieve self-regeneration of resin to overcome the defects of regeneration through chemical agents after resin failure, so EDI technology is a perfect desalination process .
